SunGard, a global leader in integrated software and processing solutions serving more than 20,000 customers appointed ICW Power to provide an energy solution including two powerpods for the complete primary and secondary power systems, to protect its new state of the art data centre. The project was designed to be completed in two phases:
Phase One: Design, manufacture, install and commission the power supplies to the onsite SunGard Administration Centre.
Phase Two: Design and build two bespoke 'PowerPod' energy centres, upgrade the MV supplies and design, manufacture, install and commission 50x power distribution centres, situated throughout the data centre. Power supplies could not be interrupted during this phase.
SunGard specified ICW Power because its design experience and reputation with MV/LV systems, energy centre construction and generation, Together with company's fast track manufacturing capability and unrivalled experience in Turnkey Project Management was the ability to meet a tight project timeline.
This full turnkey package included:
- Full construction of the generation energy centre powerpod
- 4-No 2MVA 11KV generator sets/acoustics/exhaust etc
- 2-No 72 hour dual bulk fuel tanks/Bands/Pumps/Fuel Lines
- Operation philosophy and auto control systems
- Full construction of the MV/LV energy centre powered
- 2 x 6MVA MV supply; MV Switchboards
- 9 x 2.SMVA package sub-stations
- 5 x 4000A UPS Input/Output switchboards
- 50 No static switch PDU's
- 4000A 2500A and 1600 S Busbar installations
